Your wedding day is likely to be one of the most important days of your life. If you are like most brides, you have probably been dreaming of how this day would look from the time you were a little girl. You know exactly what colors you will use, the type of flowers you want your boquet to have, along with the million other little details. But have you thought about how to include your guests’s making the day even more memorable? Our heart shaped sparklers are formed from 11-inches of steel wire and coated with a red “sparkler” coating that will burn for up to 50 seconds. Our sparklers are virtually smoke-free, something that all wedding photographers will love. Your pictures will come out beautifuly, capturing the last moments of the day you’ll never forget. Once they are used up, all you have to do is provide your guests with a metal bucket of cold water or sand to dispose of the rods in. When they are cold, the steel rods can be thrown away or better yet taken to a recycling center.

Flawless Wedding Exit Tips!

The question has been popped the answer was yes, so now it’s time to plan the perfect wedding. You’ve dreamed of the big day and want everything to be perfect, including the wedding exit. Choosing a wedding exit with sparklers is a fashionable and beautiful way to capture the moment.

Wedding sparklerexits can create some of the most breathtaking photos to remember your day by. The sparklers can be used in photography to capture the illumination of the couple in the dark night, as well as the entire wedding party creating a dramatic display with the sparklers. Your photographer can create some beautiful images by using the sparklers in unique and dramatic ways. Not to mention, they are so much fun.

As with anything that is a part of your wedding, the use of sparklers also requires planning. Here are some simple but important steps to take to ensure you have a flawless and safe magical wedding exit with sparklers.

  1. Check with your venue to make sure that sparklers are allowed on the property. Not all venues will allow sparklers. If your venue doesn’t allow sparklers don’t worry! We have a few other fun alternatives, check them out here!
  2. Inform your photographer well in advance that you are planning a sparkler exit. The photographer may to need special set up and equipment to capture the wedding exit on film. Additionally, the photographer will organize the guests in the correct positioning so that no sparklers come in contact with the couple or any guests. It’s important for the guests to be well spaced and for the couple to have a wide aisle to walk through.
  3. Order the correct sparklers for the day. Wedding sparklers are different than regular party sparklers. They are longer and burn differently. Wedding sparklers that are a minimum of 20” in length are recommended. We recommend out 20inch sparklersfor wedding of 150 guests or less. For larger wedding parties we suggest our 36 inch sparklers.
  4. Assign someone responsible to the task of lighting and disposal of the sparklers. They should be in charge of proper lighting with either a barbeque lighter or another lit sparkler. The sparklers should be fully extinguished in a bucket of water or sand. This person can do a final check of the area to make sure that all sparklers have been collected or disposed of properly.
  5. Safety precautions should be in place, such as a fire extinguisher on hand at the time of the sparkler exit and first aid supplies for any unforeseen mishaps.
  6. Sparklers burn at a high temperature between 1800 and 3000 degrees Fahrenheit and should not be used by anyone under the influence or by small children without adult supervision.

Creating the perfect wedding exit with sparklers can be easy and beautiful by just following a few simple steps. Every bride wants her wedding to go off without a hitch, from planning your grand entrance to your flawless sparkling exit.

Make your sparkling exit something your guests will talk about for months t come! Your grand exit is that last part of the biggest days of your life, so make it special! We know wedding planning can be stressful, and something are forgotten, or let’s be honest, not even thought of! So here are a few tips to help your grand sparling exit go off without a hitch!

First Things First!

You always want to check with your wedding venue! The number one mistake we come across is that some venues don’t allow sparkler send-offs due to insurance, safety, or burn bans. Some venues also have requirements or stipulations as to the type of sparker you can use and the length of sparkers permitted due to safety concerns.

We have 3 sparker sizes to chose from to meet your possible venue rules. If your venue allows sparklers and does not have size stipulations we offer 10 inch, 20 inch, and 36 inch sparklers. Not sure which size you need? Our general guidelines for sparkler size is for weddings of 150 guests or less our 20 inch sparklers will be perfect for you. Now if you are getting close to that 150 mark or have more than 150 guests we recommend our 36 inch sparkers. These guidelines help ensure all your guests’ sparklers will still be lit during your sparkling exit!

Inform Everyone About the Sparklers Exit

Now that you have decided to use sparklers for your grand exit, make sure you have a sign or some type of way to announce what time that your sparkler sendoff you will be. We love the idea of sparking tables or sendoff tables that allow you to inform guests of your exit time, you can display your sparklers and can leave lighting instructions for your guests.

Last but not least…

Most brides and grooms overlook the lighting process when using sparklers for weddings. Here are a few pointers on how to get all your sparklers lit and sparkling. First, all of your guest should have their sparklers and are positioned for your exit BEFORE lighting their sparklers. We recommend having a butane lighter handy and not matches. Did you know the best way to light a sparker is with another sparker? This is why we include one package of our 10 inch sparklers in your wedding sparkers packages to use for lighting.

One big mistakes we see a lot is that brides want to use matches for lighting sparklers. As cute as custom match boxes, the matches themselves do not burn long enough or raise the heat of the sparkler high enough to lite the material.

Once you have a few sparklers lit, it’s like a domino effect and one will light the next, until all the sparklers are lit. Now you are ready to walk through your flawless sparkling tunnel with your new hubby into your new future.

Fiancée is an exciting new title upgrade from girlfriend, and that needs to be documented! So, engagement pictures are a must do!

Engagement pictures are so much fun and there are endless themes and ideas! Is your soon to be hubby a huge sports fan? Saira Barron Photography captured this perfect picture of Tom and Jennifer! Tom is a huge football fan, so incorporating both his love for the game and his love for Jennifer created a spectacular picture for these two! I love how the jersey has his last name and her soon to be last name on it! This shot also spotlights her gorgeous engagement ring as well!

I absolutely adore this engagement picture of Dave and Kate using our confetti cannons! These confetti cannons are perfect for any outdoor photoshoot as they are water-soluble! You know what that means? ZERO clean up! Our confetti cannons shoot up to 15 feet in the air, showering you in confetti! We get asked all the time if our confetti cannons are hard to use, the answer is no! They are super easy! Hold the cannon with both hands, aim the cannon towards the sky and twist lightly on the bottom of the tube and BOOM, you’ll be in a beautiful cloud of white confetti.

Props are another fun addition to your engagement photoshoot! These I stole her heart … So I am stealing his last name signs by Refunked Junkies add such a fun flirty feel to your pictures! Another idea I have seen a lot lately is save the date signs used during your engagement picture session. Which I think is a brilliant idea if your future hubby is anything like mine. Convincing him to take professional pictures with me is like pulling teeth, so getting some cute save the date pictures at the same time as your engagement pictures is win, win, win in my book!

5 Tips for a Flawless Sparkling Exit

Your sparkling exit is the grand finale of your dream wedding, so of course you want it to go flawlessly! Here are some tips to help make sure everything goes off without a hitch!

Tip number one for your flawless exit is to make sure you order the correct type of sparkler! I know there are so many different types of sparklers to choose from, so making sure you get the correct one for your wedding is important. Everyone wants that perfect sparkling exit picture, so be sure to use smokeless sparklers. Now let’s talk about how many guests you’ll be having. You want to make sure you get sparklers that have the correct burn time for the amount of guests you will have. The last thing you want is to come out for your beautiful exit, only to see half of the sparklers have burned out. Our 20 inch sparklers have a burn time of 2 mins and are recommend for weddings with 150 guests or less. Our 36 inch sparklers have a burn time of 3.5 mins and are recommend for weddings with 150 guests or more. Both sparklers are made with easy light tips and are smokeless allowing you to get the best pictures!

Tip number two! Make sure all your guest know when your sparkling exit will be taking place! This sign from Hadley Designs is a cute and fun way to display your sparklers as well as let guests know when your exit is taking place. You can also leave instructions for your guest on how to light the sparklers. Did you know that the best way to light a sparkler is with another sparkler? In our sparkler packages we include a few 10 inch sparklers to make the lighting process as easy as possible, helping to ensure you get all those sparklers lit and ready to go for your sparkling exit!

Tip number three! Be sure and talk with your photographer about the shots you want! Last but not least here is tip number five! We get asked all the time how to properly dispose of the sparkler stick after they have all gone out. Be sure your wedding planner, venue coordinator or whoever is staying behind to clean up after you leave, knows how to dispose of the sparkler sticks properly. Have a bucket of sand or water for your guest to put their sparkler stick in. Easy trick, use the same container you used to display your sparklers in! Once they are out and cold they can be thrown away. It’s as easy as that!

Kids Helping Kids: “Together we light up the dark”

The beauty of being an online business is getting to reach and serve people all over the country. I Love Sparklers recently received an inspiring video from clients in California who are making a difference in their community while simultaneously learning important business and marketing skills. These students and their cause struck a chord with us and we are sure it will tug at your heartstrings as well. Here is a peek at the video promoting their upcoming fundraiser concert (it also just so happens to feature our sparklers).

Kids Helping Kids is a student-run, non-profit organization out of Santa Barbara, California benefiting local youth, families in hard times, and even some international organizations. A few examples of local causes they have raised money for include paying funeral costs for a student who passed in a tragic accident, purchasing a much-needed wheelchair for a student with a rare skin disease, and subsidizing ACT/SAT testing fees for students who couldn’t afford it. They also donate to global charities including Club Hope in Nicaragua. The organization is run by students in the Advanced Placement Economics class and they have raised $2.5 million dollars total for their causes since the organization’s inception in 2002.

Kid Helping Kids puts together several fundraising events each year ranging anywhere from restaurant nights and school dances to their annual benefit gala concert. They host the gala in the world-class Granada Theatre and attendees have been entertained by some incredible artists. Headliners have included  Five for Fighting (2010), Mat Kearney and Tyrone Wells (2011), Sara Bareilles and Tyrone Wells (2012), Switchfoot and Brad Corrigan from Dispatch (2013), Andy Grammer and Tim Lopez from Plain White T’s (2014), Ingrid Michaelson and Jon McLaughlin (2015), NeedtoBreathe and Johnnyswim (2016), Gavin DeGraw and Parachute (2017). This year’s concert will be a 2-day event in honor of the 10th anniversary of the gala with one concert on January 12th and January 13th with Andy Grammer and NeedtoBreathe headlining. I don’t know about you, but we want to go!

Kids Helping Kids has a goal of raising $500,000 this year and they are not yet halfway to their goal. It is the season for giving! If you are looking for a worthy charity to give to in the name of a loved one or maybe you live in Southern California and you have the ability to attend an epic concert for a good cause. We think you would be hard-pressed to find a better organization to give to.  With ticket prices ranging from $34-  $804 per ticket, they would make a great gift for that person on your list who has everything.

If you happen to be a teacher or administrator at a high school check out their website at www.kidshelpingkids.org. They have received a grant to plant more organizations in high schools throughout the country and if you are interested in starting a chapter, this type of education for young people and philanthropy is exactly what we need in communities all over the country.

Creating Christmas Traditions

First comes love, then comes marriage, then come babies….and realizing that making Christmas magical can be a lot of work (and expensive)! If you are like me and you love this time of year, it can be hard not to splurge for every expensive Christmas “experience” out there. I have 2 little girls and another little on the way so we are trying new things to find the traditions we really love and can afford to continue. Here are three inexpensive things we have tried and loved.

Christmas Book Countdown

This tradition has been a favorite of mine for a couple of years now. I collected Christmas books from my childhood, garage sales, and discount stores throughout the year and set them away. You could also borrow some from your local library for free. In the end, it doesn’t really matter how many books you have. How many books you have will determine when you start the countdown.

All you have to do is wrap your book collection and put it under the tree.  To save money, I use leftover paper and scraps from last Christmas. The wrapping can be tedious but you can get help from older children. My four year old loved helping this year. She is learning how to write numbers, so she also numbered each book in black marker from 1-24.

Once the prep is done, the kiddos get to take turns finding and opening one book from under the tree each night.  My kids wake up each morning asking if its time to open another book. It doesn’t matter to them that it’s the same books each year. It actually makes for a good guessing game.  Added bonus: they don’t beg to open their other gifts early.

Follow the Bright Star

This year I wanted to be sure that we emphasized the Nativity story.  So, I picked up a package of gold star sparklers. The star sparklers come 6 to a package so just one was plenty for my little family. Once I opened them to take a look, the sparklers were so cute I decided to stick them in the tree as decoration. (Disclaimer: I have an artificial tree and double checked how warm my lights got after being on for an extended period of time. Sparklers obviously can catch fire so use your best judgment if you decide to try this.)

On the night we opened the story of Jesus’s birth we talked about how the 3 kings followed a bright star to find Jesus in Bethlehem. I told them that they should also always seek out Jesus and that He is the real reason for why we celebrate Christmas. Then I let them go and “seek out” a star on the tree to take outside to light.

Sparklers are such a treat for kids that they really only get to enjoy once or twice a year. My girls loved this so much they wanted to burn them all in one night. I decided to make them wait and we will burn one each week and talk more about the story of Jesus’s birth each time. This could also be a fun kids Christmas party idea or even as take-home favors.

 

Christmas Eve Box

This tradition is really simple. I wrap a present for my girls with pajamas, snacks, cocoa mix and a Christmas movie to open the 24th. Last year I had purchased Polar Express on sale but you could even record a favorite from the Hallmark Channel or the “25 Days of Christmas” special to watch. We love this tradition, the kids love it and it is a low-cost gift that doesn’t require buying anything the kids don’t already need (face it, by the end of the year they all need a new set of PJs.)  My husband and I also really enjoy all of the snuggles and curling up with a cup of hot cocoa before the craziness of Christmas morning.
